The Military Use of Drones

drone for general use

You are invited to meet two speakers at the Queen’s Foundation for Ecumenical Theological Education on Monday 7th October at 7.30pm:

  • Adam Dickson, an Anglican ministerial student in Queen’s, will describe the activities of the Queen’s Foundation in witnessing against the manufacture of drones for military purposes.
  • The American anti-drones protestor Brian Terrell, a co-coordinator of Voices for Creative Nonviolence, lives and works at a farm in Maloy, Iowa.  He travels around Iowa and beyond, speaking and acting with communities that are working for justice and peace.

Brian Terrell has visited Iraq and Afghanistan and was deported from Bahrain in 2012 after witnessing the violent repression of human rights activists there. In recent years, he has been active in resistance to remote controlled murders by drones with friends in Nevada, New York and Missouri.  On May 24 this year he was released from a six month federal prison sentence for participating in a peaceable assembly in protest of drones at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri.
